What happened

A Tesla crashed through a home near Katy, Texas, killing 71-year-old resident Martha Avila. The driver told police Autopilot/FSD was engaged; Tesla's VP of Autopilot publicly disputed this, saying the driver manually overrode it and accelerated to 73+ mph. NHTSA has opened an investigation.
