XPeng's first humanoid robot, Iron, lost its balance and fell backward while standing on stage during its public debut at a shopping mall (MixC Shenzhen Bay) on January 31, 2026; a staffer broke its fall and it landed face down. No injuries were reported; the robot was carried away, adjusted, and on the following day was strapped to a support frame rather than walking unassisted for the remainder of the public appearances.
